Wire in the blood

Chris got a DVD box for christmas from my dad with all the seaons of wire in the blood. We are basicly wathing one episode a night right now. It's a British crime detective TV-show and the lead character is a shrink which can solve crimes because he understand how the killer is thinking. It's very adictive.

Wall-E

Pixar's Wall-E from 2008 is really great! I wasn't to impressed by Disney's the Princess and the frog even if it was cute and partly funny. Pixar dare being political something i couldn't see Disney do. Showing how the Earth (and the people) would look like if we continue consuming as we're doing now is extremely up to date and a very important issue. A thump up for Wall-E!

Summer break luxury

I love reading books, i really do. Summer breaks are just the right time for cuddling up inside with a book while the rain is poring down outside or just bring out to lay in the grass while the sun is shining. I never really read while going to school. After being in school the whole day i turn on the TV when i get home. Somehow i kind of think that the TV works like a brain-switch-off, that i don't have to think and that the brain needs a rest after being in school, before all the studying. It's probably pretty stupid. Anyway I'm on my 4th book so far. I recommend all 4 of them especially the kite runner, though i think a thousand splendid suns from the same author was better. All of these for books teach me about different countries. I know alot more now about Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iran and Egypt.

The Office!

So good...

I woke at up 6 am, went for a run at 7 and had an home exam at 9. Then i've been in school until 6pm, got home to continue with one of our assignemnts and made dinner. Now it's time for candy and The Office which i am, by the way, totally hooked on for the moment. I think I watch about 3-4 episodes a day. I think it's brilliant (except the first season) and really worth getting in to.

The lovely bones

Just got home watching the movie The lovely bones by Peter Jackson. I think the movie was a 3/5 - some parts were really great and some not so much. The beautiful landscape of New Zealand was one of the best parts as always in Peter Jackson's movies...

Movies 2010

This is a couple of movies i've seen lately and my resumé is:
If you're Swedish you must see Darling - So sad and cute. A movie that is everything the Hollywood movies are not. You'll definitely remember this one.
See an education - it's beautiful, well made and will leave you with a strong will to study French, dress 60'ths and drink tea.
Alice in Wonderland - was just missing something. The actors were great, the way they made it was fantastic, the 3D was cool but still there was no feeling to it. It's absolutely worth seeing on cinema, not so much on a dvd.
Pixar's Up - cute and funny but nothing special. Amazing characters but a little bit too weird story. An old man who wants to transport his house to the paradise falls in south america...
And if you haven't seen Avatar you should. It's something of a kind. The story isn't amazing but the tecnic is.

Activities

Avatar - all 3D

After just eating and sitting down for too long the whole familly decided to workout at the gym at my mum's work yesterday. There is also a big nice and worm pool to go swimming in after and a traditional swedish sauna. Me, Magnus and Marc went outside in our swimsuits rolling around in the snow before getting back jumping in the pool - lovely! Chris did not join us, think he thought be were abit nuts!

Today's been a beautiful day with sun and tons of snow. We went cross country skiing on the golf course and it was really nice. Couldn't take any photos as my camera run out of battery...
Going to see the new 3D movie Avatar now. Hope it's a good one.

More baking and bookreading

Chocolate chip cookies/Dubble chocolate muffins

I have alot of freetime now (can't you tell?!) as i only work during the weekends. If it's sunny me and Chris goes climbing and if it's raining i bake and read. This week i made Chocolate chip cookies with brown sugar, tasted better then white, and dubble chocolate muffins. Yes, i like chocolate and so does the rest of the family.
I just finished to swedish book "Let the right one in" which made it to the screens all over the world last autumn. I think i had pretty high expectations on it as it got very good reviews. The book was very well written and unique. But some how it didn't really captured me as a thriller should do. I red it without emotions. I couldn't make up my mind who i wanted dead or alive, who was bad and who was good... I have to see the movie now because i can imagen the scenes, which in the book wasn't to scary, being really creepy.
I've red the novel "Blood brothers", or at least 2/3 of it and i think i might stop there. It's not a bad book, not at all, it's very interesting. It's about a young boy and his familly living in, which was then, Palestina. When the jewish people after the holocaust "get their land back" Elias and his family is forst to leave their home, land and everything they own. They have done nothing wrong but have to pay for what the nazis did. To the end of the book it's getting a bit too deep in to christianity and i loose interest. But it's really worth reading until that point!

Baking and bookreading

"kärleksmums" with cream cheese

Cinnamon buns

There's been some more baking going on... The weather has been bad the last week and instead of climbing i've been baking. It's my therapi. Have got 3 weeks left now before i'm going to start working "for real".
Finshed my book about the child prostitution in the Philippines; Rosario is dead. Horrible story based on reality...Rosario, a girl of 11 dies after months of carrying a broken-off vibrator inside her. It was playsed there by a rich Austrien medical student who just wanted some fun one night while on vacation on the Philippines.

Congratulations Norway!

Today is "syttende maj"; the 17th of may and Norway's nationalday. So thousands and thousands of red-blue-and-white flags will be waving all over our neighbour country.

It's normally a huge celebration day and today it's even bigger then normal. Norway won the eurovision song contest yesterday! I will explain this event for all of you who haven't had the chance to "enjoy" it. Basicly, all European countries are sending a singer/group to represent their country and compete with all the others. Well Europe in this case has expanned and nowadays countries as Israel, Russia, Azerbadjan etc are competeing aswell. This was actually the way ABBA got famous by winning with "Waterloo". I haven't been crazy about this competition for alot of years mainly because Sweden sends such a bad singers but also as all the countries close to eachother vote for eachother. But this time Norway won with the highest score ever! Do i have to say that Sweden sucked...
